Day 1: Bandaranaike International Airport - South Coast

  • Arrival at BIA, meeting and assistance, transfer to Bentota.

  • Nestled along the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, Bentota unfolds as a paradisiacal retreat, where sun-kissed beaches, tranquil waters, and lush greenery converge to create a haven for relaxation and water-based adventures. This coastal gem, situated at the meeting point of the Bentota River and the Indian Ocean, captures the essence of tropical bliss and offers a perfect blend of leisure and adventure. Golden beaches, Maadu River, Lunuganga Estate, Brief Garden, Kande Viharaya Temple, Water Sports Hub, and Turtle Hatchery are some of the highlights of Bentota.

  • Visit to Turtle Hatchery Kosgoda (Optional):
    Conservation takes center stage at Bentota’s turtle hatcheries, where visitors can witness the efforts to protect and rehabilitate endangered sea turtles. The hatcheries contribute to the preservation of these majestic creatures, allowing for a unique and educational experience.

  • Evening boat safari at Maadu River (Optional) with sunset:

Day 2: South Coast Galle South Coast

  • Proceed to Galle for a day excursion.
  • Sightseeing at Galle Dutch Fort:
    The heart of Galle is its iconic fort, a perfectly preserved 17th-century Dutch fortress that encapsulates the city’s historical essence. Stroll along the cobblestone streets within the fort’s walls, exploring colonial-era architecture, quaint boutiques, and charming cafes that exude a timeless elegance. Galle Lighthouse and Ramparts, Dutch Reformed Church, Galle National Museum, Groote Kerk, Flag Rock Bastion, Galle Fort Clock Tower, local markets, and galleries are some of the highlights of Galle.
  • Walk through Rumassala Ramayana Site:
    Rumassala is a beautiful mountain located 3 km east of Galle town. According to the Ramayana trail tour in Sri Lanka, this abnormal geographical piece is believed to have fallen when Hanuman carried the Drona Giri on his flight back to Lanka Pura to use lifesaving Sanjeevani herbs to rescue Lakhshmana and Rama. They were in need of this medical plant to be treated after suffering severe injuries during the war. Therefore, Rumassala is one of the five Sanjivani Mountains in Sri Lanka and an important Ramayana tour site.

Day 3: South Coast - Nuwara Eliya

  • Proceed to Nuwara Eliya.
    Cradled in the emerald embrace of Sri Lanka’s central highlands, Nuwara Eliya stands as a picturesque escape, earning its title as the “Little England” of the island.

  • Victoria Park, a meticulously maintained garden, reflects the town’s colonial heritage. The park’s pathways are adorned with vibrant flower beds, providing a serene space for picnics, birdwatching, and unwinding amidst the beauty of nature.

  • Strawberries are grown in open fields and poly tunnels in the Nuwara Eliya District. They need to be constantly monitored for protection from diseases.

Day 4: Nuwara Eliya Ella Nuwara Eliya

  • Sightseeing at Seetha Amman Temple (Optional) & Ashok Vatika (Optional):
    Adding a cultural dimension, the Seetha Amman Temple, nestled in the hills, is associated with the Hindu epic Ramayana. The temple’s serene surroundings and the mythological connection contribute to the spiritual ambiance of Nuwara Eliya.
    Seetha Eliya Seethai Amman Thirukkovil, also known as Ashok Vatika Sita Temple, is believed to be the site where Sita was held captive by the Rakshasa king Ravana, according to the Hindu epic, the Ramayana. Sita prayed daily for her husband Rama to rescue her from this place. This is also known as Hakgala Botanical Garden.

  • Heading to Ella for a day excursion:
    Ella is renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views of mist-covered mountains, verdant tea plantations, and deep valleys. The town is surrounded by rolling hills that create a serene and captivating backdrop.

Day 5: Nuwara Eliya – Kandy

  • Tea Plantation and Factory visit
    Nuwara Eliya’s undulating landscapes are adorned with verdant tea estates, creating a captivating tapestry of rolling hills and manicured plantations. The scenic beauty is enhanced by mist-covered mountains, pristine waterfalls, and the serene allure of nearby lakes.

  • Enroute visit to Ramboda Falls and Bhaktha Hanuman Temple
    Ramboda Falls is a foamy cascade of water, the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka, standing at 109m high. This Hanuman Temple in Ramboda was constructed by the Chinmaya Mission of Sri Lanka. Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple is dedicated to the God Hanuman and is one of the important sites of the Ramayana Tour in Sri Lanka. Visitors can witness the 18-feet Hanuman statue, the tallest Hanuman statue in Sri Lanka, established inside the Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda.
