Day 1: Arrival at BIA, Meeting and Assistance, Transfer to Colombo.

  • Colombo, the bustling metropolis and commercial heartbeat of Sri Lanka, unfolds as a vibrant mosaic of contrasts where modernity meets tradition, and historical landmarks coexist with contemporary energy. As the country’s capital and largest city, Colombo serves as a gateway to the island’s diverse experiences, offering a lively urban landscape, cultural richness, and a thriving melting pot of flavors. Independence Memorial Hall, Viharamahadevi Park, and Colombo Museum are some of the highlights of Colombo.
  • Boasting a magnanimous outlook and an epic architectural design, the Red Mosque is one of the most prominent places of worship in Colombo. Also known by the name Jami-Ul-Alfar Mosque, it is also regarded as one of the oldest mosques in Colombo and has now become a renowned tourist site in the metropolis. The mosque was built in the year 1909 by a local Muslim community to have an establishment to fulfill prayers which should be followed five times a day and Jummah on Fridays.

Day 2: Colombo - Pinnawala – Kandy

  • Breakfast at hotel and depart to Kandy.
  • Visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (Optional).
    The iconic Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, established in 1975, serves as a haven for orphaned and injured elephants. Visitors can witness the heartwarming sight of these gentle giants as they frolic in the river, socialize in the expansive grounds, and partake in daily bathing rituals. The orphanage plays a crucial role in the rehabilitation and preservation of Sri Lanka’s elephant population.
  • Sightseeing at Spice Garden Mawanella.
    Mawanella is renowned for its spice gardens, where visitors can explore and learn about the cultivation of various spices such as cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom. These spice gardens offer educational tours, providing insights into the cultivation methods and medicinal properties of different spices.
  • Dinner and accommodation at Kandy Hotel.

Day 3: Kandy

  • Breakfast at hotel and transfer to Kandy City.
  • Morning Kandy City tour and Gem Museum Visit.
    Kandy emerges as the cultural jewel of the island, captivating visitors with its lush landscapes, sacred relics, and vibrant traditions. As the last royal capital of the ancient Sinhalese kings, Kandy exudes a regal charm that seamlessly blends with its natural splendor.
    The museum exhibits rare minerals found in Sri Lanka and the oldest fossils of living beings from the Cambrian era, about 541–485 million years ago. The museum also provides visitors with detailed knowledge of how Sri Lankan minerals and gems outshine those found around the world.
  • Visit Peradeniya Royal Botanic Gardens.
    A botanical haven, the gardens sprawl across acres of meticulously landscaped grounds. From towering bamboo groves to vibrant orchid collections, the gardens offer a serene retreat, inviting leisurely strolls amid exotic flora.
  • Witness the cultural show (on availability).
    Kandy comes alive with traditional cultural performances, including captivating Kandyan dance and drumming ceremonies. These vibrant displays, adorned with colorful costumes and rhythmic beats, showcase the island’s rich cultural heritage.

Day 4: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

  • Breakfast at hotel and transfer to Nuwara Eliya.
  • Morning visit to Kandy Temple of Tooth Relic (Optional).
    At the heart of Kandy lies the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a spiritual epicenter for Buddhists worldwide. The sacred tooth relic of the Buddha, enshrined within the temple, attracts pilgrims and visitors alike to witness religious ceremonies and experience the profound tranquility of the surroundings.
  • Ramboda waterfall.
    So named due to its proximity, the breathtaking Ramboda Falls waterfall in Nuwara Eliya. Adjoining the main Nuwara Eliya road, the Ramboda Falls hotel is picturesquely encircled by a fast-flowing crystal-clear stream.
  • Sightseeing at Bhaktha Hanuman Temple.
    Shri Bhakta Hanuman temple is dedicated to the God Hanuman and is one of the important sites of the Ramayana Tour in Sri Lanka. Visitors can witness the 18-foot Hanuman statue, the tallest Hanuman statue in Sri Lanka, established inside the Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda.
  • Tea plantation and tea factory visit.
    Nuwara Eliya’s undulating landscapes are adorned with verdant tea estates, creating a captivating tapestry of rolling hills and manicured plantations. Transfer from Kandy to a tea plantation and factory. At the plantation, observe the entire process and manufacture of tea and enjoy a tasting of authentic Ceylon tea, considered one of the best blends in the world.

Day 5: Nuwara Eliya

  • Sightseeing at Hakgala Botanical Garden & Seetha Amman Temple (Optional):
    Situated at an elevation of about 1745 m above mean sea level, Hakgala Botanic Gardens, about 28 hectares in extent, lie under the shadow of the Hakgala Rock (meaning “Elephant’s Jaw Rock”). This massive rock towers to a height of about 2,200m behind the gardens and the surrounding forest reserve like a solitary giant.
    Adding a cultural dimension, the Seetha Amman Temple, nestled in the hills, is associated with the Hindu epic Ramayana. The temple’s serene surroundings and the mythological connection contribute to the spiritual ambiance of Nuwara Eliya.
  • Nuwara Eliya City tour including Gregory Lake and Victoria Park (Optional):
    Experience a cool climate, reminiscent of an English summer, complemented by colonial architecture, including the iconic red-bricked Post Office and grand hotels like the Grand Hotel and St. Andrew’s Hotel.
    Strawberries are grown in open fields and poly tunnels in the Nuwara Eliya District, requiring constant monitoring for protection from diseases. Gregory Lake invites visitors to indulge in leisurely boat rides or lakeside strolls. Day 6: Nuwara Eliya - Bentota - Colombo

  • Breakfast at hotel and head to Colombo via Bentota.
  • Witness Turtle Hatchery (Optional):
    Conservation takes center stage at Bentota’s turtle hatcheries, where visitors can witness efforts to protect and rehabilitate endangered sea turtles. The hatcheries contribute to the preservation of these majestic creatures, offering a unique and educational experience.
  • Boat Safari at Maadu River (Optional):
    The river is dotted with small islands, and the banks are covered with lush mangrove forests that are home to numerous incredible animal species. Enjoy sightings of vibrant tropical birds and, if lucky, a few crocodiles.
